During the month of March, students had the opportunity to enjoy a fun activity day. It was not just another activity day; sadly, it was our last for this school year. This one included some new events to support the regular activity day: a free throw competition for all sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students.
Two lines were set up with the grades divided up. Each student would shoot from the free-throw line, and if they made it, they headed to the back of the line to go again.
As a student missed they would get their rebound and continue to shoot until they made it. A participant would get out if the person behind them made a shot before the first shooter could.
The second event that took place was the three-point shooting contest. Each player would get a shot and if they were to miss then that participator is out. Including those activities we still had the usual entertainment, music and/or dancing, ping pong, and board hockey.
March also produced a fundraiser for the kids at Children’s Hospital. Students could bring in a dollar to wear pajamas on Monday, March 6, and every dollar donated was put toward making blankets for the kids at the hospital. Many students participated in this school-wide event.
Spring season is coming sooner than we think. In the month of April students look forward to the annual spring break. This is the time where students usually leave their home in Trenton and take some time to spend in the warm weather of Florida, or any other states with sun and fun. Some kids even go on cruises! Regardless of whether or not you are leaving the state, everyone likes to get some time off school.
